    Software Engineer in Test


    Job Description

    Technical & General Requirements
    • 2+ years experience in automated software testing
    • Strong technical skills in a Microsoft environment
    • Ability to work effectively from home
    • Experience with FitNesse
    • Experience with VMWare

    General Preferences
    • Ability to work in small development teams
    • Ability to effectively infer requirements when not clearly defined
    • Naturally inquisitive personality
    • Interested in determining how solution works to the user and what boundary conditions are and how they are handled
    • Good communicator who actively engages in discussion
    • Metro-Phoenix area resident
    • The ideal candidate will take ownership of all testing/QA aspects of the project and be able to deliver ready, tested features to the product owner on a consistent basis.

    Technical Preferences
    • Experience with CruiseControl.Net, TFS, source control, and continuous integration processes
    • Experience with Selenium
    • Experience with Scrum development methods
    • Experience with Version One development management system
    • Experience with SQL Server
    • Experience with test-first methodologies
    • Experience testing service and data layers, in addition to presentation layer
    • Experience with reproducing test results, especially scripted setup, execution, and tear down
    • Scripting ability, especially NAnt and PowerShell
    • Focus on data manipulation
    • Computer Science degree

    Duties
    • Maintain and implement test plans
    • Work with the product owner to discover and understand product and system requirements
    • Work with the business analyst to define acceptance criteria
    • Determine the acceptability status of release candidates
    • Create and manage testing output that is reproducible on multiple environments suitable for regression testing and running inside continuous integration
    • Determine and perform exploratory testing appropriate for the complexity of the application
    • Check the application for adherence to user interface standards
    • Test the installation of the application
    • Troubleshoot deployment configuration issues and build automation servers
    • Verify performance requirements
    • Verify minimum and recommended system requirements
    • Identify defects, log them with reproducible steps, and track for resolution
    • Coordinate the release of the application
